IDE HDDs

IDE (PATA) hard drives from CSSi South Africa support legacy desktops, industrial PCs, embedded controllers and older server platforms that pre-date SATA. While SATA has been the desktop standard since the mid-2000s, IDE drives remain essential for maintaining production-line PCs, broadcast equipment, medical devices and CNC controllers that cannot be re-platformed. When to choose IDE

Only when the host system has a 40-pin or 44-pin PATA connector and the BIOS cannot boot from SATA via an add-in card.
