GL.iNet Comet (GL-RM1) KVM Switch

The GL.iNet Comet (GL-RM1) is a remote KVM switch that provides full control over a computer or server from anywhere. It allows you to view the screen, use the keyboard and mouse, and remotely manage the hardware without having to be physically present at the workstation. With support for 4K@30 FPS video, hardware-based H.264 encoding, latency of 30–60 ms, and Gigabit Ethernet, this device is ideal for IT operations, server management, and remote computer administration.

Remote Access Without a Subscription

Comet operates on a one-time purchase model, with no subscription fees. Access via a web browser eliminates the need to install additional applications or configure a VPN. Simply log in to the cloud service to take control of a connected computer, server, or network device.

4K video, low latency, and audio support

The device supports video at resolutions up to 4K at 30 fps, and hardware-accelerated H.264 encoding ensures smooth performance. Very low latency of 30–60 ms allows for comfortable real-time responses during system configuration, troubleshooting, and work with interfaces requiring precise control. Additionally, Comet supports remote audio output and two-way audio, facilitating communication, diagnostics, and collaboration.

Convenient management of computers and servers

The switch allows you to switch between devices without the need for additional monitors, keyboards, or mice. This is a practical solution for remote workers, IT administrators, and users managing Raspberry Pi devices, home servers, and network equipment. Relative Mouse Mode helps maintain cursor alignment between local and remote screens on high-resolution displays, while the Mouse Jiggle feature prevents the computer from entering sleep mode during long-running tasks.

Remote Boot and File Access

Comet enables remote file transfer, even for devices that are offline. The USB-Device port allows you to connect power management accessories or USB storage devices, expanding service capabilities. The built-in Wake on LAN feature allows you to remotely wake up computers, and support for the ATX Power Control Board or Fingerbot device lets you turn equipment on, off, and restart it without physical access.

Work securely from anywhere

The device provides remote access to home and business computers without the need for a public IP address or port forwarding. It is ideal for businesses, data centers, MSPs, IT professionals, and individual users who want to maintain access to their equipment while traveling. The self-hosting option allows you to run your own remote access server on Linux or Ubuntu systems, providing greater control over your working environment and data security. The compact enclosure, measuring 80 × 60 × 17.5 mm and weighing 85 g, makes it easy to mount next to a computer, server, or network device. It features a 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet port, a USB 2.0 port, an HD IN input, a USB-C power port, an additional USB-C port (USB 2.0), and a Reset button. Power delivery via USB-C (5 V / 2 A) simplifies installation and reduces the number of accessories needed.
