Description: There is probably no other tank which arouses so much curiosity. It is surrounded by an aura of mystery, and facts are mixed with legends that have grown over the years. Panzerkampfwagen VIII MAUS is a prototype German super heavy tank from the Second World War. It was the heaviest and largest tank ever built. It weighed approximately 188 tons! The project was implemented in 1942-1944, and only two unfinished prototypes were built, which never entered service. In April 1945, the Red Army captured both abandoned Maus prototypes, which were located at the Kummersdorf training ground. They were used to assemble a vehicle with the hull of the first prototype and the turret of the second. This hybrid is still one of the main attractions of the Tank Museum in Kubinka near Moscow. Panzer VIII MAUS in LIMITED EDITION is a very special model in COBI collection! It was built completely from scratch in 1:28 scale and is 39 cm long. Thanks to removable covers on the turret and the fuselage you can access the interior, which has been recreated in detail. Removable engine, opening hatches, movable barrel and working caterpillar traction are other advantages of this kit. Presented in the context of factory construction, the tank has been covered with high-quality prints that will not wear off during intensive use. The LIMITED EDITION has been expanded with attractive additions depicting a design table and a board with construction plans. The removable engine has been given a signature stand. Five figures depict people involved in the construction of the tank prototype. These are the famous German designer and engineer Ferdinand P., a menacing-looking scientist, a general, and the standard-version welder and mechanic figures. The figures have been equipped with new elements (detachable shoes and feet in several types). This allows for even more individual creation of the figures. The whole set is completed with a numbered and laser-engraved plaque with the name of the set and a paper certificate of authenticity signed by the President of the COBI Company. MAUS is a must-have item for lovers of history, armored weapons and the mysteries of World War II. The beautiful and huge model will ideally complement your tank collection, becoming its main element. Thanks to the intuitive instructions the construction is easy, although due to the unique construction with the interior, the large number of elements and the time needed to assemble the set we recommend the model to slightly older builders. | Part number: 2559 | series: Historical Collection | Minimum age: 10 | Gender: Boys | Gender: Girls | No. of elements: 1605 | Set size: Extra large | Security: We recommend that you keep the packaging for reference purposes.
