The only condition to be fulfilled in order not to damage the battery is to use a battery with the same voltage, capacity and degree of wear. If you want to increase the voltage, you must connect the battery in series, i.e. (+) with (-). If we want to increase capacity, we connect in parallel (+) with (+) and (-) with (-). A maximum of 4 batteries can be connected together. So, for example, connecting in parallel four batteries with a capacity of 200Ah and a voltage of 12.8V will increase the capacity to 800Ah and the voltage will remain the same at 12.8V, in the case of a series connection, the voltages will add up to 51.2V and the capacity will remain the same at 200Ah.
