External power supplies in our range are mains adapters and chargers for laptops, tablets, mobile computers, barcode scanners and network equipment. They suit anyone replacing a lost or failing charger, or an office that wants spares. With over 150 models, the range includes ASUS, Acer, Dell, HP Inc., Microsoft, Zebra and Honeywell, plus compatible adapters from MITSU.
How to choose an external power supply
Compatibility. Start with the exact model of the device, not just the brand. The label on your current adapter shows the output voltage, current and wattage, and these figures are the most reliable way to find a match.
Voltage. The output voltage must match what the device expects. A wrong voltage can stop charging or damage the device. USB-C chargers negotiate voltage automatically, but they still need to supply enough power for the laptop.
Wattage. Choose the same wattage as the original or a higher one, because the device only draws what it needs. A lower-rated adapter may charge very slowly, fail to keep up under heavy load, or trigger a warning on the laptop.
Connector and polarity. Barrel plugs differ in outer and inner diameter and in the polarity of the centre pin, so compare the plug with your old one. Some Microsoft Surface models use their own magnetic connector, while many newer thin laptops charge over USB-C. Check whether the mains cable is included, as some adapters are sold without it.
Original or compatible. An original adapter from the device maker is the closest match to the factory specification, which suits company laptop fleets. A compatible adapter is a practical spare for a travel bag or a second desk, provided it carries proper safety markings such as CE.
Brands we carry
- ASUS, Acer, Dell and HP Inc.: laptop makers whose adapters are built for their own notebooks, so the connector and wattage usually follow the model family.
- Microsoft: power supplies for Surface devices, several of which use the Surface Connect port rather than a standard barrel plug.
- MITSU: compatible replacement adapters made to fit laptops from several manufacturers, which is useful when the original is no longer sold separately.
- Zebra and Honeywell: known for barcode scanners and mobile computers used in warehouses and retail, so their power supplies mostly serve that equipment.
- Cisco, HP Enterprise and Cradlepoint: networking brands, so their adapters are meant for switches, access points and cellular routers rather than laptops.

Frequently asked questions about external power supplies
Can I use a charger with a higher wattage than my laptop needs?
Yes, as long as the voltage and connector match. The laptop draws only the power it requires, so a higher-rated adapter simply has spare capacity. It will not charge the device any faster than the laptop allows.
What happens if the charger has a lower wattage than the original?
The laptop may charge very slowly or not at all while it is working hard. Some models show a warning or reduce performance to cope. Over time, an adapter running at its limit can also run hotter, so matching the original wattage is the safer choice.
How do I find the right power supply for my laptop?
Read the label on the old adapter or the rating on the underside of the laptop, then match the voltage, wattage and plug type. If neither is available, search by the full laptop model number. For USB-C laptops, check the wattage the manufacturer specifies.
Is a compatible power supply safe to use?
A compatible adapter can be safe when it matches the required voltage and wattage and carries recognised safety markings. Avoid unmarked adapters with no stated specification. If you want the exact factory specification, an original adapter from the device maker is the closest option.
