Vacuum cleaner batteries are replacement battery packs for cordless stick vacuums, handheld vacuums and robot vacuums, for owners whose machine runs for a short time or no longer holds a charge. Our range includes packs from manufacturers such as JIMMY, DREAME and KARCHER, plus battery specialist PATONA.
How to choose a vacuum cleaner battery
Model compatibility. A battery must be made for your exact vacuum, so start with the model number on the rating label or in the manual. Two machines from the same brand can look alike and still use different connectors and pack shapes.
Voltage. The voltage must match the original battery. Cordless stick vacuums commonly use packs of around 18 to 30 V, while robot vacuums usually use a lower-voltage pack of around 14.4 V. A wrong voltage can stop the vacuum working or damage the motor or charger.
Capacity. Capacity, shown in Ah or mAh (and sometimes Wh), decides how long the vacuum runs on one charge. A higher figure means longer cleaning time, provided the pack has the same voltage, size and connector as the original. Compare it with the rating of your old battery rather than chasing the biggest number.
Original or compatible pack. Original packs come from the vacuum maker and follow the factory specification. Compatible packs from a specialist such as PATONA are built to fit a list of models, so check that your model appears in the product details before ordering.
Vacuum type. Stick and handheld vacuums often have a pack you can slide out, so replacing it is quick. Robot vacuums usually keep the battery under a cover and may need a screwdriver, so check how the pack is fitted before you buy.

Vacuum cleaner batteries: frequently asked questions
How do I know my vacuum needs a new battery?
The usual signs are a much shorter run time, the vacuum losing suction soon after you start, or the charger light behaving oddly. A battery that no longer charges at all also needs replacing. If the vacuum works well while plugged in, the battery is the likely cause.
How do I find the right battery for my vacuum?
Use the model number printed on the vacuum or in its manual, then match it to the compatibility details of the battery. Check that the voltage matches the original pack. If your current battery has a part number, it helps to compare that as well.
Can I use a battery with a higher capacity than the original?
Yes, if the voltage, size and connector are the same as the original, a higher capacity pack gives longer run time. The vacuum only draws the power it needs, so the extra capacity is not harmful. Check that the pack is listed as compatible with your model.
How long does a vacuum cleaner battery last?
Most lithium-ion vacuum batteries last a few years of regular use, and are usually measured in charge cycles. Heavy use on high suction settings and leaving the battery fully flat for long periods shorten its life. Storing the vacuum in a cool, dry place helps the pack last longer.
