Case accessories and parts

Case accessories and parts

Case accessories and parts are the extras that fit inside or onto a PC case: vertical graphics card brackets, riser cables, drive bays, internal USB and card reader modules, fan controllers and similar add-ons. They suit builders who want to upgrade an existing case or replace a missing part. Brands in our range include PHANTEKS, Lian Li, Thermaltake and AXAGON.

How to choose case accessories and parts

Check compatibility with your case. Many parts are designed for one manufacturer's cases or even a single model. Look at the stated case series, mounting points and slot positions before ordering. Universal parts usually list the standards they follow instead.

Match the connectors. Internal USB parts need the right motherboard header: USB 3.0 (19-pin), USB-C (20-pin) or older USB 2.0. Fan controllers and lighting parts differ between 3-pin and 4-pin PWM fans, and between 5 V addressable RGB and 12 V RGB. A mismatch can damage the lighting or leave it unresponsive.

Measure the clearance. A vertical GPU bracket moves the card closer to the side panel, so check how much room the card needs to breathe. A riser cable also has to be long enough to reach the motherboard slot without sharp bends. For a PCIe 4.0 or 5.0 graphics card, choose a riser rated for that generation, because older risers can cause errors or lower speeds.

Consider drive and fan sizes. Drive brackets and bays are made for 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch drives, and some adapters convert one size to the other. Fan accessories are normally built around 120 mm or 140 mm fans. Confirm the size before you buy.

Think about finish and build quality. Metal brackets tend to hold heavy graphics cards more firmly than thin plastic ones. If the part is visible through a glass panel, check that its colour and lighting match the rest of the build.

Brands we carry

  • PHANTEKS: known for its Enthoo and Eclipse cases and for accessories such as vertical GPU brackets and water cooling parts.
  • Lian Li: known for aluminium cases, UNI FAN fans and addressable RGB cabling.
  • Thermaltake: a long-established maker of cases, cooling and gaming accessories, including riser cables and lighting.
  • AXAGON: known for internal and external adapters, including USB hubs, card readers and drive enclosures.
  • INLINE and LogiLink: both known for cables, adapters and everyday IT connection accessories.
  • LAMPTRON: known for fan controllers and monitoring panels for PC builds.
  • AEROCOOL and MSI: both make PC cases alongside fans and other components, so their accessories match their own case designs.

Also in our range: HAVN, COREPARTS and DIMASTECH.

Frequently asked questions

What counts as a PC case accessory?

A case accessory is any part that adds to or repairs a PC case without being a core component. Typical examples are GPU support brackets, riser cables, drive trays, dust filters, fan hubs and front panel modules. They let you change how a case is laid out or fix something that has broken.

Do I need a riser cable to mount a graphics card vertically?

Yes, in most cases. A vertical mount places the card parallel to the side panel, so a riser cable is needed to connect it to the motherboard slot. Some cases include one, while others need a separate kit that matches the case and the PCIe generation of your card.

Can I use a part from one brand in another brand's case?

Sometimes, but not reliably. Standard items such as 2.5-inch drive trays, fan hubs and internal USB cables are often cross-compatible. Brackets and panels built for a specific case series usually are not, so check the stated compatibility first.

How do I know which fan or lighting connector my accessory needs?

Check the connector on the accessory and the headers on your motherboard or controller. A 4-pin plug is PWM, a 3-pin plug is voltage controlled, and addressable RGB uses a 3-pin 5 V header that is different from the 4-pin 12 V RGB header. The motherboard manual lists which headers are available.
