Full tower cases

Full tower cases

Full tower cases are the largest standard PC enclosures, built for E-ATX and ATX motherboards, long graphics cards and custom water cooling. Our range has over 80 models, from tempered glass showcase builds to quiet, sound-dampened designs, with brands such as Thermaltake, Fractal Design, Phanteks and ASUS.

How to choose a full tower case

Motherboard support. Most full towers take ATX and smaller boards, and many also accept E-ATX, the larger format used by some workstation and enthusiast boards. If you plan to use E-ATX, check the maximum board size in the case specification rather than assuming it.

Cooling space. Check the maximum graphics card length, CPU cooler height and the radiator sizes the case supports. Many full towers take 360 mm or 420 mm radiators at the front or top, but a top radiator can clash with tall memory modules, so look at the clearance figures as well as the fan count.

Airflow or low noise. A mesh front panel lets fans pull in more air, which helps with a hot graphics card and processor. A solid front panel with sound-dampening material keeps the system quieter, but it restricts intake, so choose it if noise matters more than the last few degrees of temperature. Tempered glass looks good, yet it needs good fan placement to avoid trapping heat.

Storage and connections. Count the 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch drive bays if you want a large mix of hard drives and SSDs, since full towers usually offer more than mid towers. Check the front panel too: USB-C is useful on newer builds, but your motherboard needs a matching header to use it.

Desk and floor space. Measure the height, depth and weight before ordering. A full tower with a large radiator and several drives can be heavy, and many are too deep or tall for a typical desk shelf.

Full tower case brands we carry

  • Thermaltake: known for the Core and View series, which include large tempered glass cases and designs with plenty of radiator support.
  • Fractal Design: a Swedish brand known for the Define series, with a clean Scandinavian look and sound-dampened panels, and the Meshify series for airflow.
  • Phanteks: a Dutch brand known for the Enthoo series, which is popular with builders who want room for custom water loops.
  • be quiet!: a German brand focused on low-noise PC hardware, and its Silent Base and Dark Base cases follow the same approach.
  • ASUS: makes ROG cases with a gaming look and large glass panels, designed to match ROG motherboards and graphics cards.
  • Corsair: known for large airflow-focused cases such as the 7000D Airflow and for its iCUE lighting and fan system.
  • Jonsbo: known for minimalist cases with aluminium panels and a clean, understated finish.

Also in our range: Antec, Gamdias, Cougar, Sharkoon and Chieftec.

Full tower case FAQ

What is a full tower case?

A full tower case is the largest common PC case size, made for big motherboards, long graphics cards and extensive cooling. It usually has more drive bays and fan mounts than a mid tower. It takes up a lot of desk or floor space, so measure before you buy.

Is a full tower better than a mid tower?

Not automatically. A full tower offers more internal room, more radiator and fan positions and often easier building. A mid tower is enough for many systems and is smaller and lighter. Choose a full tower if you need E-ATX support, several large radiators or many drives.

Do I need a full tower for an E-ATX motherboard?

Usually, though not always. Most full towers support E-ATX, while only some large mid towers do. Check the maximum motherboard size listed in the case specification before ordering.

Can I fit a 360 mm radiator in a full tower case?

In many full towers, yes. Support for 360 mm radiators is common at the front or top, and some cases take 420 mm. Check the stated radiator clearance, because thickness, fans and memory height can all limit what fits.
