Mid tower cases

Mid tower cases

Mid tower cases house ATX desktop PCs, from plain office builds to gaming systems with tempered glass and RGB lighting. Our range of over 1,600 models covers airflow, silent, compact and liquid cooling cases from Thermaltake, Fractal Design, Corsair, Cooler Master and Lian Li. They suit anyone building or upgrading a PC who wants more room than a small case offers.

How to choose a mid tower case

Motherboard size. Most mid towers take ATX, Micro-ATX and Mini-ITX boards, but E-ATX support varies, so check the specifications. A case larger than the board needs leaves more room for cable routing and airflow.

Airflow and noise. A mesh front panel lets air in freely and keeps components cooler under load, while a solid or foam-lined front reduces fan noise. This is why airflow cases and silent cases are separate subcategories in our range.

Graphics card and cooler clearance. Check the maximum graphics card length and CPU cooler height, especially with long triple-fan cards or large tower coolers. If you plan a liquid cooler, confirm which radiator sizes the top, front and rear mounts accept.

Storage bays. Many builds use only M.2 drives on the motherboard, but 3.5" bays matter if you want hard drives for bulk storage. Among models listing this detail, two bays is the most common, with one, three and four bays also available, and a few cases offering six or none.

Colour and side panel. Black is the most common finish in our range, white cases are easy to find, and a few come in wood or with transparent panels. Tempered glass shows off the components, while steel side panels tend to dampen noise better and hide untidy cables.

Mid tower case brands we carry

  • Thermaltake: the largest brand in this category, known for the View series of tempered glass cases and for open-frame designs.
  • Fractal Design: a Swedish brand known for the sober Define series of silent cases and the mesh-fronted Meshify airflow range.
  • Corsair: pairs its cases with the iCUE lighting and fan control software, and is known for airflow-focused models such as the 4000D.
  • Cooler Master: a long-standing case and cooling maker, known for the MasterBox series and its high-airflow HAF line.
  • Lian Li: known for aluminium construction and for the O11 Dynamic, a dual-chamber case popular with custom liquid cooling builds.
  • ASUS: sells cases under its ROG and TUF Gaming lines, designed to match ASUS motherboards, graphics cards and coolers.

Also in our range: Aerocool, Darkflash, Deepcool, Antec, Zalman and Montech. Beyond standard models, you will find subcategories for RGB cases, tempered glass cases, airflow cases, silent cases, wood cases, cases with liquid cooling and cases with a power supply included. There are also compact Micro-ATX and Mini-ITX cases, full tower cases, and a small number of drive enclosures and NAS cases.

Frequently asked questions about mid tower cases

What is the difference between a mid tower and a full tower case?

A full tower is taller and deeper, and usually offers more drive bays, E-ATX board support and room for several radiators. A mid tower holds most ATX builds, including a large graphics card and a 360 mm radiator in many models, while taking up less desk space. Most home and gaming PCs do not need more than a mid tower.

Will an ATX motherboard fit in a mid tower case?

Yes, ATX is the standard board size for mid tower cases, and Micro-ATX and Mini-ITX boards also fit. Larger E-ATX boards are not supported by every model, so check the case specifications before buying.

Is a tempered glass case worse for cooling?

Not by itself, because a glass side panel does little to restrict airflow. The front panel matters more: a solid glass or closed front limits air intake, while a mesh front or good fan placement keeps temperatures down. If cooling is your priority, look for a mesh front or the airflow subcategory.

How many 3.5 inch drive bays do I need?

Most buyers need none, one or two. M.2 and 2.5" SSDs mount elsewhere in the case, so 3.5" bays are only needed for hard drives. Cases with two 3.5" bays are the most common among models listing this detail, and a few offer four or more for larger storage setups.
