Laptop sleeves are slim protective cases that hold a laptop on its own or inside a larger bag, which suits students, commuters and business travellers. How to choose a laptop sleeve

Size. Match the sleeve to your laptop's screen size, then check the real dimensions of the laptop. A sleeve rated for 14" suits most 14-inch laptops, but thick business models can fit tightly. In our range you will find sleeves for 12", 13", 14", 14.1", 15.6" and 16" screens, with 14" and 16" the most common among those listing a maximum size.

Material. Neoprene is soft and stretchy, absorbs small knocks and keeps the sleeve thin. Polyester and nylon are lighter and more resistant to scuffs and light rain, while polyurethane gives a firmer, smoother finish. Some sleeves use recycled polyester, which suits buyers who want a lower-impact material.

Compatibility. Many sleeves are sold as universal or for any brand, and they rely on the stated screen size. Others are made for a specific line, such as Apple MacBooks, or for HP, Dell and Lenovo laptops. A model-specific sleeve usually fits closer, so check the exact laptop model before ordering.

Case type. A classic sleeve case is the lightest option and slides into a backpack or briefcase. What size laptop sleeve do I need for a 15.6-inch laptop?

Choose a sleeve rated for 15.6" screens, or a 16" model if the laptop has a wide chassis. Sleeves are sized by maximum screen size, so a 15.6" laptop will not fit a 14" sleeve. Compare the laptop's width and depth with the sleeve's internal dimensions when they are given.

Is a neoprene sleeve better than a polyester one?

Neoprene gives more cushioning against small bumps, while polyester is lighter and tends to resist scuffs and light rain better. Neoprene suits a sleeve that lives inside another bag. Polyester is a sensible choice if the sleeve will be carried on its own or used more roughly.

Do I need a sleeve if I already have a laptop bag?

A sleeve is worth adding if your bag has little or no padding around the laptop. It keeps the laptop away from keys, chargers and bottles, and makes it easy to move the laptop between bags. A bag with a fully padded laptop compartment may not need one.

Can I buy a laptop sleeve for a MacBook?
