How to choose a laptop charger or battery
Compatibility. Start with the exact model name or part number of your laptop, found on the underside label or in the old charger or battery. A charger that looks identical can still differ in voltage, power or connector, so match the part number rather than the brand alone.
Voltage and wattage. Output voltage should match what your original charger delivers. Common values in our range are 19 V, 19.5 V, 18 V and 20 V. Output power is usually 45 W, 65 W or 90 W for everyday laptops, with 120 W and above for gaming and workstation models.

How do I find the right charger for my laptop?
Check the laptop model number and the label on your current charger. Match the output voltage, the wattage and the connector type. If you cannot read the label, search by the laptop's exact model name or part number.
Can I use a higher wattage charger than the original?
Yes, usually, provided the voltage and connector are the same. The laptop only draws the power it needs, so a 90 W charger can normally replace a 65 W one. Always keep the voltage matched.
What happens if the charger wattage is too low?
The laptop may charge very slowly, not charge while in heavy use, or show a warning about an unsuitable adapter. A lower wattage charger can also run hot under constant load. Choose a charger with at least the wattage of the original.
How do I know my laptop battery needs replacing?
A battery is due for replacement when it holds charge for much less time than before, shuts down suddenly, or the laptop reports a battery service warning. Swelling is a safety concern, so stop using the laptop and replace the battery straight away. Check the battery model number before buying.
