Refurbished laptops in our range are pre-owned notebooks that have been checked and restored for resale, suited to buyers who want a capable work or study machine for less than a new one. Most are 14-inch models with Intel Core or AMD Ryzen PRO processors, from brands such as HP Renewed, Lenovo Renewed, Dell Renewed, Apple Renewed and TEQCYCLE.
How to choose a refurbished laptop
Processor. Intel Core i5 is the most common choice in our range and handles office software, video calls and many browser tabs without trouble. Core i7 and AMD Ryzen 7 PRO suit heavier multitasking, while Core i3 is enough for basic browsing and documents.
Storage. Most refurbished laptops here have a 256 GB SSD, which is adequate for Windows, office applications and a moderate document library. Choose 512 GB or 1 TB if you store large photo collections, work with video or keep many projects offline.
Screen size. A 14-inch display is the most common size in our range and balances readable text with easy carrying. A 13.3-inch model is lighter for daily commuting, while a 15.6-inch screen gives more room for spreadsheets and side-by-side windows.
Keyboard layout. Many refurbished laptops were originally sold in Europe, so layouts differ from what South African buyers are used to. Nordic and German keyboards are the most frequent in our range, with US English and French layouts available on a few models. If you touch type, check the layout before you order.
Condition and age. Business laptops are built for years of daily use, but a refurbished unit still shows some wear. Read the condition notes on the product page and compare the processor generation, as a newer chip usually brings better battery life and longer software support.

Refurbished laptops: frequently asked questions
What does a refurbished laptop mean?
A refurbished laptop is a previously used computer that has been inspected, cleaned and restored to working order before being sold again. Some have had parts such as the battery or storage replaced. The exact condition and cosmetic wear differ between units, so read the product description before buying.
Is a refurbished laptop good enough for work or study?
Yes, for most office and study tasks a refurbished business laptop is more than adequate. A model with an Intel Core i5 or AMD Ryzen 5 PRO processor and an SSD runs word processing, video calls and web apps smoothly. Demanding tasks such as video editing or 3D design need a faster processor and more memory.
Is 256 GB of storage enough on a refurbished laptop?
256 GB is enough for most people who mainly use online services, office files and a handful of applications. It fills quickly if you keep large photo libraries, games or video projects on the device. In that case, pick a 512 GB or 1 TB model, or add an external drive.
Which keyboard layout will a refurbished laptop have?
Many refurbished laptops carry the layout of the country they were first sold in. In our range, Nordic and German layouts are the most frequent, and a few models have US English or French keys. Check the keyboard language on the product page, because the layout cannot be changed without replacing the keyboard.
