Hair dryers

Hair dryers

Hair dryers for home use, from simple everyday models to styling dryers with ionic function and several heat settings. Our range of over 250 models includes Philips, Remington, Dreame and BaByliss. It covers shoppers buying a first dryer as well as those replacing one that is too slow, too hot or too heavy.

How to choose a hair dryer

Heat and speed settings. Several heat levels let you dry fine or coloured hair gently and use more heat only when you need it. In our range, three heating levels are the most common among the dryers with listed data, while some models offer up to seven. Speed settings are usually two or three, though a few dryers have six.

Ionic function. An ionic dryer releases negative ions, which can reduce static and help smooth frizz. Many dryers in our range have it. It is most noticeable on thick, long or frizzy hair, and it does not replace a lower heat setting for damaged hair.

Cool shot. This button blasts cold air to set a style once the hair is dry. It is standard on most dryers in our range, so treat it as a basic feature and be cautious about any model without it if you style your hair regularly.

Motor, power and weight. Higher wattage generally dries faster, but motor design and airflow matter as much as the number on the box. Heavier dryers tire your arm during long sessions, so check the weight if you have thick or long hair. Professional-style dryers often use stronger motors and are built for daily use.

Nozzles and attachments. A concentrator nozzle directs air for smooth, straight styling, while a diffuser spreads airflow gently over curls and waves. Check what is included in the box, because some dryers come without a diffuser.

Hair dryer brands we carry

  • Philips: known for ThermoProtect technology, which aims to keep air temperature at a level that is gentler on hair.
  • Remington: a long-established hair care brand that makes dryers alongside straighteners and curling tongs, often with ceramic and ionic features.
  • Dreame: better known for robot vacuums, it also makes hair dryers built around high-speed motors.
  • BaByliss: a French brand with a strong background in salon-style tools and dryers with powerful motors.
  • Rowenta: a household appliance maker that also produces hair dryers for everyday home use.
  • Revlon: known for hot-air brushes that dry and volumise hair in one step.
  • Valera: a Swiss brand that supplies professional and hotel-grade hair dryers.
  • Beurer: a German company focused on health and wellbeing products, including hair care.

Also in our range: Adler, ETA, Concept and Cecotec.

Hair dryer FAQ

Is an ionic hair dryer worth it?

An ionic hair dryer is worth considering if your hair is prone to frizz or static. The ions help the hair cuticle lie flatter, which gives a smoother finish. Heat is still the main cause of damage, so choose a model with adjustable temperature as well.

What does the cool shot button do?

The cool shot button switches off the heat and blows cold air. Cooling the hair after styling helps the shape hold for longer and adds some shine. You can also use it to cool the dryer's airflow on your scalp during longer drying sessions.

How many heat settings do I need?

Three heat settings are enough for most people: low for fine or damaged hair, medium for everyday use and high for thick hair. More levels give finer control, which is useful if you style often. Check that the dryer also has at least two speed settings.

Which hair dryer is best for curly hair?

A dryer with a diffuser and a low or medium heat setting is the best match for curly hair. The diffuser spreads the airflow so curls keep their shape and are less likely to frizz. An ionic function can add extra smoothness, and a low speed setting stops the air from disturbing the curl pattern.
