Radios and music systems in our range include portable radios, clock radios, CD and Bluetooth micro systems and larger hi-fi style units for the living room or kitchen. There are over 130 products, from brands such as DENVER, IMPERIAL, BLOW and MEDION. The category suits anyone who wants dedicated radio listening or a simple all-in-one music player without building a separate hi-fi.
How to choose a radio or music system
Type of device. A portable radio or clock radio is enough for news and background music in one room. A micro system with CD, USB and Bluetooth gives fuller stereo sound and suits a lounge or study, while systems with a turntable are for people who own vinyl.
Radio reception. FM is the safe choice, because it works with the stations broadcast in most areas. DAB+ and internet radio add more stations, but DAB+ only helps if digital broadcasts reach your area, and internet radio needs a Wi-Fi connection.
Sources and connections. Bluetooth lets you stream from a phone, USB plays files from a flash drive, and an AUX input connects older devices. Check that the model has the sources you actually use, such as a CD drive if you still have discs.
Sound and power supply. Stereo speakers with separate left and right channels give a clearer sound than a single mono speaker. Rated output in watts is only a rough guide, so a larger cabinet and bigger drivers usually matter more. Battery-powered radios can move around the house or garden, while mains-only systems tend to suit a fixed spot.
Colour and finish. A radio often stays on a kitchen counter or shelf, so appearance counts. In our range, black is the most frequent finish in the colour data, with white, stainless steel, grey, blue and brown also available.

Radios and music systems: frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a radio and a music system?
A radio is built mainly to receive broadcasts, and it is usually a single unit with one speaker. A music system also plays your own music from sources such as CD, USB or Bluetooth, and often has larger or separate stereo speakers. Many models blend the two, so check the list of sources.
Do I need a DAB+ radio?
Only if DAB+ broadcasts are available where you live. FM works almost everywhere that has radio stations, so it is the safer baseline. A model with both FM and DAB+ covers you if digital coverage improves.
Can a radio play music from my phone?
Yes, if it has Bluetooth or an AUX input. Bluetooth streams wirelessly from a phone or tablet, while AUX needs a cable with a 3.5 mm plug. Models without either can only play the radio or their built-in sources.
Should I choose a portable or a mains-powered radio?
Choose portable if you want to use the radio in different rooms, outdoors or during power cuts, since it runs on batteries or a built-in rechargeable battery. A mains-powered unit suits a fixed spot and does not need recharging. Some models offer both options.
