How to choose a TV mount or stand
VESA pattern and weight. Check the hole spacing on the back of your screen (written as 200x200 or 400x400, for example) and its weight, then compare both with the mount's specification. A mount that covers your screen size but not its weight is not safe to use.
Type of movement. A fixed mount sits closest to the wall and costs the least effort to fit. A tilting mount helps when the screen hangs above eye level, and a full-motion arm lets you swing and extend the screen for corner or multi-seat rooms. Full-motion arms put more load on the wall, so they need sound fixings.
Wall or room type. Brick and concrete take most standard fixings, while plasterboard usually needs fixings designed for hollow walls or a mount screwed into the studs. If drilling is not an option, a floor stand or trolley holds the screen without touching the wall, and a ceiling mount suits shops, meeting rooms and awkward layouts.

How do I know if a mount fits my TV?
Match the VESA hole pattern on the back of the TV and make sure the mount's weight limit is above the TV's weight. The mount's listed screen size range is a useful guide, but the VESA pattern and weight decide whether it really fits. If the pattern does not match, a VESA adapter can often solve it.
Should I choose a fixed, tilting or full-motion mount?
A fixed mount suits a TV at eye level in a room where you always sit in front of it. A tilting mount is better when the TV is mounted high, as it reduces glare and improves the viewing angle. A full-motion mount is best if you watch from several places, though it is heavier and needs a stronger wall.
Can I put a TV mount on a plasterboard wall?
Yes, but only if the mount is fixed into the wall studs or with fixings rated for the TV's weight and the leverage of the mount. Ordinary plugs will not hold a TV in plasterboard. If you are unsure what is behind the wall, a floor stand is a safer option.
Can I use the same mount for a monitor or soundbar?
