How to choose a tablet case
Compatibility. Check the exact tablet model, not only the screen size. Cut-outs for the camera, speakers, buttons and charging port differ between models, even when two tablets are the same size. Our range covers Apple, Samsung and Lenovo tablets, and some cases are listed for any brand, which makes the maximum screen size the figure to check. Listed sizes run from 10.1 to 14.6 inches, with 10.9 and 11 inches both well represented.
Case type. A folio case wraps the front and back and usually folds into a stand, so it protects the screen as well. A cover protects the back and edges but leaves the display open, which keeps the tablet slimmer. A flip case works much like a folio. Folio cases are the type listed most often in our range.
Material. Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) is flexible and absorbs knocks without adding much thickness, and it is the most frequently listed material. Polyurethane and polyester give a fabric or leather-look finish for office use. Neoprene suits sleeves that cushion a tablet inside a bag, while EVA is a firm foam found in harder shells.
Everyday features. Look for a stand with more than one viewing angle if you watch video or type on the tablet. A magnetic closure keeps the cover shut in a bag, and a pen holder or cut-out matters if you use a stylus. If the tablet is mostly carried rather than used in its case, a sleeve is simpler than a full folio.
