Screen protectors and films

Screen protectors and films

Screen protectors and films for phones and tablets, mostly clear protectors, with privacy, anti-glare and smart glass options as well. The range suits owners of Apple and Samsung devices in particular, with some choices for Lenovo, Xiaomi, Microsoft and Motorola models. Brands include PanzerGlass, Screenor, Belkin and eStuff.

How to choose a screen protector

Device compatibility. A protector is cut for one exact model, so check the full model name before ordering, not just the brand. Most of our listings with compatibility information are for Apple and Samsung devices, and a few cover Lenovo, Xiaomi, Microsoft and Motorola. Phone and tablet versions of the same family are never interchangeable.

Protector type. A clear protector is the usual choice and keeps the screen looking as it does without one. A privacy protector narrows the viewing angle so people beside you cannot read the display, which helps on trains or in open offices. An anti-glare protector reduces reflections under bright light, and some smart glass protectors add other functions. Our range includes all of these, although clear protectors are by far the most common.

Installation method. Most protectors in our range use full adhesive, meaning the whole back surface sticks to the screen, which gives even contact and consistent touch response. A few use adhesive strips around the edges, and at least one is magnetic and can be removed easily. Full adhesive suits a permanent fit, while strips or magnets suit people who want to take it off again.

Protection features. Scratch resistance is the baseline, and many products also list shock resistance, which matters if the phone is dropped on a hard floor. Some add dust or dirt resistance, and a few are described as shatterproof. Look for the feature that matches how you use the device, such as keys in a pocket or a tablet used outdoors.

Case fit. A protector that covers the entire flat area can interfere with a thick case, so check whether it is designed to work with cases. If you use a case with raised edges, a protector that stops just short of the curved edge usually avoids lifting.

Screen protector FAQ

Is a glass screen protector better than a film?

Glass protectors are generally thicker, feel closer to the original screen and resist scratches better. Plastic films are thinner and more flexible, and they are often chosen for matte finishes or for curved screens. If you want the closest feel to bare glass, choose glass. If you want a writing texture or a matte surface, a film is the usual route.

Do I still need a screen protector if I use a case?

Yes, in most cases. A case protects the edges and corners, but the screen itself is still exposed when the phone lies face down or sits in a pocket with keys or coins. A screen protector covers that gap, and the two work together.

How does a privacy screen protector work?

A privacy screen protector limits the viewing angle so the display looks dark to anyone looking from the side. The person directly in front still sees the screen normally. The trade-off is that the picture can look slightly dimmer, even head-on.

How do I apply a screen protector without bubbles?

Clean the screen thoroughly, remove dust with the supplied sticker or cloth, and align the protector before the adhesive touches the glass. Lay it down from one edge and let it spread slowly. Small bubbles can often be pushed to the edge with a soft card, and an alignment tray, where one is included, makes this much easier.
