Wireless and magnetic power banks

Wireless and magnetic power banks

Wireless and magnetic power banks let you charge a phone without a cable, usually by snapping onto the back of the handset. Our range of over 70 models covers slim magnetic packs and larger wireless power banks from brands such as Belkin, Xiaomi, Anker and Baseus, for commuters, travellers and anyone tired of loose cables.

How to choose a wireless or magnetic power bank

Magnetic compatibility. Magnetic power banks attach firmly only to phones with a built-in magnet ring, such as iPhone 12 and newer, or to phones in a magnetic case. Many Android phones support Qi wireless charging but have no magnets, so check for a magnetic case or choose a model that charges flat on the back.

Battery capacity. Our range includes 5000 mAh packs (about 18.5 Wh), 10000 mAh packs (about 37 Wh) and larger 20000 mAh models (about 74 Wh). Wireless charging loses some energy as heat, so a 5000 mAh pack usually gives less than one full phone charge, while 10000 mAh typically gives around one and a half to two.

Wireless charging power. Most models in our range where this is listed deliver 15 W, with some at 10 W. Your phone also has to support that speed, otherwise it will charge at its own lower limit.

Cable port and speed. Most of these power banks recharge through USB Type-C, and a few also have Micro-USB. A higher input current, such as 3 A or more, refills the power bank faster, which matters if you recharge it overnight or between meetings.

Size, weight and travel. Slim 5000 mAh packs sit flat on a phone and fit a pocket, while 20000 mAh models are noticeably thicker and heavier. Power banks under 100 Wh are generally accepted in cabin baggage, and all capacities here fall below that, but check your airline's rules.

Frequently asked questions

Do magnetic power banks work with all phones?

No, magnets only grip phones with a built-in magnetic ring or a magnetic case. Phones that support Qi wireless charging can still charge from the pack if you hold it in place, but it may slip. Check your phone's wireless charging support before buying.

How many times can a 10000 mAh power bank charge a phone?

A 10000 mAh power bank typically charges a modern phone about one and a half to two times. The exact figure depends on the phone's battery size and on charging losses, which are higher with wireless charging than with a cable.

Is wireless charging from a power bank slower than using a cable?

Usually yes. Wireless charging in our range tops out at 15 W, and some of the energy is lost as heat. A cable can often deliver more power, so use it when you need the fastest top-up.

Can I take a wireless power bank on a plane?

Generally yes, in your cabin baggage, as power banks below 100 Wh are commonly allowed. Most airlines do not accept them in checked luggage. Rules differ between carriers, so check with your airline before you travel.
