Feature phones are simple mobile phones with physical buttons, long battery life and a focus on calls and texts. They suit older users, anyone wanting a backup handset, and people who need a basic phone for work or travel. Our range includes senior-friendly models, rugged phones and dual SIM handsets from Gigaset, Olympia, myPhone, Doro and Nokia.
How to choose a feature phone
Network support. Check that the phone works on 4G, because many mobile networks are phasing out 2G and 3G. A 4G model with voice calling over LTE is less likely to stop working when older networks are switched off.
Keys and display. Large, well-spaced buttons and a bright screen with big text matter most for older users or anyone with poor eyesight. Look for hearing-aid compatibility and a loud speaker if calls are often hard to hear.
Senior and safety features. Many phones aimed at seniors have a dedicated SOS button that calls pre-set numbers, and a charging cradle so the phone is easy to put down and pick up. These features are worth having if the phone is for a relative who may need help quickly.
Battery and standby time. Feature phones usually last days or weeks on one charge, far longer than a typical smartphone. Compare the stated standby time, and consider a removable battery if you want to carry a spare.
Build and extras. A rugged phone with dust and water resistance suits building sites, workshops and outdoor use. Dual SIM support is useful for separating work and personal numbers, and a basic camera, Bluetooth or an FM radio are small extras that some models include.

Feature phone FAQ
What is the difference between a feature phone and a smartphone?
A feature phone has physical buttons and a simple operating system built mainly for calls and messages. A smartphone runs a full app platform and usually has a touchscreen. The trade-off is that feature phones are easier to use and last longer between charges, but offer far fewer apps.
Which feature phone is best for a senior?
The best choice is a phone with large keys, a clear display, a loud speaker and an SOS button. Models from Doro, Emporia, Beafon and Olympia are designed around these needs. A charging cradle and hearing-aid compatibility are also worth checking for.
Do feature phones need 4G?
A 4G feature phone is the safer buy, because 2G and 3G networks are being phased out in many places. Older models that only support those networks may lose calling ability in time. Check the product specifications for 4G or VoLTE support before ordering.
How long does a feature phone battery last?
Most feature phones last several days on a single charge, and some can stay on standby for a week or more. Actual time depends on screen use, call time and network signal. Compare the stated standby and talk times on each product page.
