Wireless headphones

Wireless headphones

Wireless headphones in our range include over-ear and on-ear headband models, in-ear earbuds and true wireless earbuds for music, calls, gaming and office work. Leading brands include JBL, Sony, Anker and Apple, alongside Skullcandy, Baseus and Xiaomi. With over 1,200 models, the choice mostly comes down to fit, battery life and how you use them.

How to choose wireless headphones

Wearing style. Headband models dominate our range, and they suit long listening sessions because the weight is spread across the head. In-ear and true wireless earbuds fit in a pocket and stay put during exercise. Neckband and ear-hook designs are rare, so if you want one, check the product details first.

Ear coupling. Over-ear (circumaural) cups surround the ear and block more outside noise. On-ear (supraaural) cups rest on the ear, so they are lighter but can press after a few hours. In-ear (intraaural) buds seal inside the ear canal, and a good seal improves bass and isolation.

Connection and battery. Most models pair over Bluetooth, and some are listed as wired and wireless, which means you can keep listening with a cable when the battery runs out. Earbuds usually rely on a charging case to extend playing time, while headband models generally last longer on a single charge. Check the stated hours if you commute or travel often.

Microphone and intended use. A built-in microphone is fine for occasional calls. For gaming, meetings or call centre work, a boom microphone sits closer to your mouth and picks up speech more clearly. Our range includes models aimed at calls and music, sport and everyday use, gaming and office use.

Sound specifications. A frequency range of 20 to 20,000 Hz covers the span of normal human hearing, and many headphones here list exactly that. Wider figures such as 10 to 40,000 Hz look impressive on paper but say little about how the headphones actually sound. Driver tuning and noise cancelling affect the result more than the number does.

Wireless headphones FAQ

What is the difference between over-ear and on-ear headphones?

Over-ear headphones have cups that fit around your ears, while on-ear headphones rest on top of them. Over-ear designs usually isolate noise better and feel more comfortable over long sessions. On-ear models are lighter and more compact, but pressure on the ears can become noticeable.

Are wireless headphones good for gaming?

Yes, many are, provided you choose a model with a microphone and low delay. Gaming headsets usually have a boom microphone, which picks up your voice more clearly than a built-in one. Some wireless headphones also work with a cable, which removes any lag completely.

Do I need noise-cancelling headphones?

Noise cancelling is worth having if you travel, commute or work in a noisy space. It reduces constant low sounds such as engine hum, but it does not remove sudden noises such as voices. If you mostly listen at home, a good over-ear or in-ear fit is often enough.

How long do wireless headphones last on one charge?

Battery life varies by type. Headband models generally run for many hours on a single charge, while earbuds last a shorter time and top up in their charging case. Check the stated playing time, and remember that noise cancelling and high volume drain the battery faster.
