Keyboard accessories are the add-ons that change how a keyboard feels, sounds and fits your desk: keycaps, switches, wrist rests and similar parts for mechanical and office keyboards. Our range includes Glorious, Akko, Razer, Fellowes and HyperX, so it suits both gamers customising a board and office users who want more comfort.
How to choose keyboard accessories
Compatibility. Check the keyboard first. Most mechanical keyboards use MX-style switch stems, but layout (ANSI or ISO), board size and bottom-row key lengths decide whether a keycap set fits completely. For switches, confirm that your board is hot-swappable, otherwise changing them means soldering.
Keycap material and profile. PBT keycaps usually resist shine and wear better than ABS, while ABS often gives a smoother surface and a slightly higher-pitched sound. Double-shot legends are moulded into the key, so they do not rub off like printed ones. Profile affects typing feel: sculpted profiles such as Cherry or OEM suit most typists, while flatter ones feel different in the hand.
Switch feel. Linear switches press smoothly, tactile ones have a bump at the actuation point, and clicky ones add an audible click. Gamers often prefer linear for quick repeated presses, and typists often prefer tactile. Clicky switches can be loud in shared rooms or offices.
Wrist rest comfort. A wrist rest should match the height and depth of your keyboard so your wrists stay roughly level with the keys. Memory foam and gel feel softer, while wood or hard-coated rests are firmer and easier to wipe clean. Measure your board and choose a length that matches it, such as tenkeyless or full size.

Keyboard accessories: frequently asked questions
Will any keycap set fit my mechanical keyboard?
Not always. Most mechanical keyboards accept keycaps with an MX-style cross stem, but the set must also cover your layout and any unusual key sizes. Check that it includes the right shift, space bar and bottom-row keys before buying.
Are PBT keycaps better than ABS?
PBT is generally more durable and resists the shiny wear that develops on frequently used keys. ABS can feel smoother and allows brighter colours. The better choice depends on whether you value longevity or a particular look and sound.
Can I change keyboard switches without soldering?
Yes, if the keyboard is hot-swappable. Its sockets let you pull out switches with a puller and push in new ones. On a soldered board, you would need a soldering iron and some experience.
Does a wrist rest really help when typing?
A wrist rest can make long typing or gaming sessions more comfortable by supporting your palms and keeping your wrists in a neutral position. It works best when its height matches your keyboard. It does not replace good posture or regular breaks.
