Power cables for monitors, PCs, printers and other mains-powered equipment, with over 70 products from brands such as Kabelmeister, Good Connections, EFB and be quiet!. The range includes standard mains leads and some cables made for PC power supplies. It suits home users, offices and PC builders replacing a missing or damaged lead.
How to choose a power cable
Connector type. Look at the socket on the device first. Many monitors, desktop PCs and printers use a three-pin C13 socket, while smaller devices often use C7 or C5. Check that the connector named in the product title matches the one on your equipment.
Plug standard. The wall end must fit your sockets. Cables from European brands may come with a European-style plug, so check the plug type in the product title before ordering. If it does not match, you will need an adapter or a different cable.
Length. Measure the route from the device to the socket, including any detour behind a desk, and add a little slack. A cable that is too short strains the connectors, and one that is far too long just adds clutter. Lengths of one to two metres cover most desk setups.
Rating and conductor size. Monitors and routers draw little power, but PCs, workstations and UPS units draw more. For these, choose a cable rated for the device's current, which is printed on its label or in the manual. A thicker conductor is the safer choice for high-draw equipment.
Compatibility with PC power supplies. Modular cables for a power supply are often made for one brand or series. Do not swap them between makes, because the pin layouts can differ. Only use cables listed for your exact power supply model.

Power cable FAQ
Which power cable does my monitor need?
Most monitors with a built-in power supply use a C13 mains lead, though some use a smaller C7 connector. Check the socket on the back of the monitor or the manual. Some monitors use an external power brick instead, which has its own cable.
Can I use any power cable with my PC power supply?
A standard mains cable with a C13 connector usually works with a desktop power supply that has a matching socket. Internal modular cables are different, because they are often specific to a brand or series. Always check the cable is listed for your exact power supply model.
Does the length of a power cable matter?
Yes, mainly for fit and tidiness. A cable that is too short pulls on the sockets, and an overly long one leaves excess cable to manage. For heavy loads, choose a cable with a suitable rating rather than relying on length alone.
How do I know if a power cable will fit my wall socket?
Check the plug type in the product title and compare it with your sockets. Many cables from European brands carry a European-style plug. If the plug does not match, you need a different cable or a suitable adapter.
