How to choose a laptop or tablet stand
Screen size and weight capacity. Check the largest laptop the stand is designed for. Several stands in our range accept laptops up to 43.9 cm (17.3 in). Weight limits vary: some stands are rated for around 5 kg, which covers most laptops, while a few are built for up to 20 kg and suit heavier loads.
Height and angle adjustment. A fixed stand is simple, but an adjustable one lets you set the screen near eye level, which reduces neck strain. Many models in our range offer height adjustment, and some tilt anywhere from 0 to 180°, which also helps if you want to lay a tablet almost flat for drawing or reading.
Portability. If you carry your laptop between home, the office and client sites, choose a foldable stand that fits in a bag. Most of the stands we list fold flat. A stand that stays on one desk can be sturdier and does not need to fold.
Material and stability. Aluminium is the material you will see most often in our range. It is rigid enough to hold a laptop without flexing and helps draw heat away from the underside of the device. Check that the contact points have grip or rubber pads so the laptop does not slide.
Ergonomics. A raised laptop screen means the built-in keyboard sits too high to type on comfortably. If you use the stand for long periods, plan on adding a separate keyboard and mouse.

Do I need a laptop stand?
A laptop stand is worth having if you use your laptop at a desk for more than short sessions. Raising the screen towards eye level helps you sit with a more upright posture. Pair it with an external keyboard and mouse so your hands stay at a comfortable height.
What size laptop will a stand hold?

Are aluminium laptop stands better than plastic ones?
Aluminium stands are generally stiffer and more stable than plastic ones of a similar thickness. The metal also conducts heat, so it can help the laptop stay cooler during long sessions. Plastic stands can still be a good choice when light weight or low cost matters more.
Can I use a laptop stand for a tablet?
Yes, many laptop stands also hold tablets, and some are sold as laptop and tablet stands. Look for a model with a wide tilt range, such as 0 to 180°, so you can prop the tablet upright for video calls or lay it back for writing. Make sure the grip is wide enough for your tablet's thickness.
