Monitor mounts and arms hold a screen off the desk and let you set its height, tilt and distance. They suit home offices, workstations and gaming setups where desk space or posture is a concern. Brands in our range include Gembird, Maclean, Esperanza and Savio.
How to choose a monitor mount or arm
VESA compatibility. Most monitors have four mounting holes on the back in a VESA pattern, commonly 75 × 75 mm or 100 × 100 mm. Check the back of your monitor or its manual before buying. Some very thin or curved models have no VESA holes and need an adapter plate.
Screen size and weight. Every mount lists a maximum screen diagonal and a maximum load. Weigh your monitor without its stand and stay comfortably below the stated limit. Large and ultrawide screens need a higher rated arm than a small office display.
Desk fixing. Arms are usually fixed with a clamp on the desk edge or a bolt through a hole in the desktop. Measure the thickness of your desk against the clamp's stated range. Glass, hollow or very thin desktops may not take a clamp safely.
Range of movement. Look for tilt, swivel and rotation to portrait mode, plus height adjustment. Gas spring arms move with a light push, while simpler mechanical arms hold a position more firmly but need a tool or some force to change it. Check that the arm's reach suits the depth of your desk.
Number of screens. If you want two monitors on one stand, make sure each arm or the whole support is rated for the weight of both screens. A single arm is easier to fit and puts less load on the desk edge.

Monitor mount and arm FAQ
What does VESA mean on a monitor arm?
VESA is the standard spacing of the four screw holes on the back of a monitor, measured in millimetres. A mount only fits if it supports your monitor's pattern, such as 75 × 75 mm or 100 × 100 mm. The pattern is normally given in the monitor's specifications.
Will a monitor arm fit any desk?
No, the desk has to suit the way the arm is fixed. Clamp arms need a solid desk edge within the stated thickness range, and bolt-through arms need a drilled hole. Glass or hollow desktops usually need a reinforcing plate or a different type of support.
How do I know if a mount can hold my monitor?
Compare the monitor's weight without its stand and its screen diagonal with the mount's stated limits. Both figures must be within the mount's rating. If you are close to the limit, choose a stronger model, because a gas spring arm in particular can sag when underrated.
Is a monitor arm better than the stand supplied with the monitor?
An arm is usually more adjustable than a standard stand. It lets you raise the top of the screen to around eye level, move it closer or further away and free up the desk surface beneath it. If your monitor stand already adjusts well and you have plenty of room, an arm is less necessary.
