Drone accessories

Drone accessories

Drone accessories cover batteries and chargers, ND and polarising filters, propellers, carrying cases and other add-ons for camera drones. The range suits owners who need spare parts, better video quality or safer transport. Over 100 products are available from DJI, Freewell, Sunnylife and Patona, among others.

How to choose drone accessories

Compatibility. Accessories are usually made for specific models, so check the exact drone name before ordering. A battery, propeller set or filter kit for one generation often does not fit another, even within the same family such as Mini, Air or Mavic.

Batteries and charging. Most consumer camera drones fly for roughly 20 to 40 minutes on one battery, so spare batteries are the simplest way to extend a shoot. A charging hub that tops up several batteries in turn saves time on longer days. Batteries from the drone maker are guaranteed to work with the aircraft, while third-party ones need a careful compatibility check.

Filters. ND filters reduce the light reaching the sensor, which lets you keep a slower shutter speed in bright sun and gives smoother video motion. Polarising filters cut reflections on water and glass. A set with several strengths is more useful than a single filter if your light changes often.

Propellers and protection. Propellers chip and wear after hard landings, so a spare set is a sensible purchase. Propeller guards help when flying close to walls or indoors, but they add weight and can shorten flight time.

Transport. A case or bag shaped for your drone, controller and batteries protects better than a generic backpack. If you travel by air, check the airline's rules for carrying lithium batteries before you pack.

Drone accessory brands we carry

  • DJI: the maker of the Mini, Air, Mavic and Avata drones, and the largest brand in this category. Its accessories, such as batteries, propellers and charging hubs, are designed for its own aircraft.
  • Freewell: known for camera filters, including ND and polarising sets, made to fit popular drone models.
  • Sunnylife: a third-party maker of add-ons for DJI drones, including protective and transport accessories.
  • Patona: known for replacement batteries and chargers for a wide variety of electronics, offered as an alternative to original parts.

Also in our range: Maclean, Autel, Motorola and Techly.

Drone accessories FAQ

Which accessories should I buy first with a new drone?

A spare battery is the most useful first purchase, because flight time per battery is short. After that, an ND filter set improves video in daylight, and a padded case protects the drone while you travel. Spare propellers are inexpensive insurance for beginners.

Do ND filters make a real difference on a drone?

Yes, if you shoot video in bright conditions. An ND filter allows a slower shutter speed without overexposing the image, so movement looks smoother and less jerky. For photos only, they matter much less.

Can I use third-party batteries in my drone?

Sometimes, but it depends on the model. Third-party batteries must match the drone's connector, voltage and communication protocol, so read the compatibility list carefully. Original batteries remain the safest option if you want full flight data and battery status in the app.

How do I know if an accessory fits my drone?

Match the exact drone name in the product title and specifications to your own model. Names such as Mini 3 and Mini 4 Pro look similar but often need different parts. If the listing does not name your drone, assume it will not fit.
