Type of light. Strips give an even line of light under wall units and along shelves, while small spot or puck fittings highlight a single spot. Control. A simple switch or a motion sensor is enough for a wardrobe or pantry. If you want dimming, schedules or voice commands, choose a smart model that works with an app and your existing smart home setup. Smart lights depend on a stable Wi-Fi signal, so check coverage near the cabinet.
Length and fit. Measure the underside of the cabinet or shelf before ordering, and leave space for the power supply and any controller. Lights that can be cut or extended are more forgiving when the space is an unusual size.
