Photo and video lights in our range are continuous LED lights for photography, video recording, streaming and video calls. They suit content creators, streamers, home-studio users and anyone who wants steadier, more even light than a room lamp provides. The brands here are HAMA, Elgato and Logitech, so the selection is small and easy to compare.
How to choose a photo or video light
Type and size. A small desk-mounted light is enough to light your face for streaming or calls. Portraits, product photography and full-body video need a larger panel or a light on a stand, because a bigger light surface gives softer shadows.
Brightness and dimming. Brightness is usually given in lumens or lux, and you need enough to outshine a bright window or ceiling light. A wide dimming range matters just as much, since low settings keep the light comfortable when it sits close to your eyes.
Colour temperature and accuracy. Lights with adjustable white, from warm to cool, let you match daylight or the lamps already in the room. For product shots, skin tones and colour-critical video, look for a high CRI rating, generally 90 or above, so colours look natural on camera.
Power and mounting. Check whether the light runs from mains power, USB or a battery, as this decides where you can use it. Desk clamps suit a fixed streaming setup, while a standard tripod thread lets you use stands and tripods for flexible positioning.
Control. Some lights are adjusted with buttons or a dial on the unit, others through a desktop or phone app. Software control is handy if you change brightness and colour often and want to save settings for different scenes.

Frequently asked questions about photo and video lights
What is the difference between a photo light and a video light?
A video light stays on continuously, while a photographic flash fires for a split second. Continuous LED lights are used for both stills and video because you see the effect of the light before you shoot. Many lights sold for one purpose work well for the other.
Do I need a ring light or a panel light?
A ring light gives even, face-on light and a circular reflection in the eyes, which suits close-up talking-head video. A panel light is more flexible, because you can angle it, bounce it or place it to one side for more shape. For product photography, a panel on a stand is usually the easier tool to position.
Which colour temperature should I use for video?
Use about 5600 K when you want to match daylight and about 3200 K to match warm indoor bulbs. The aim is to keep every light source in the scene at a similar temperature. If your light has adjustable white, set it to match the strongest other light in the room.
Can I use a video light for streaming and video calls?
Yes, a continuous LED light works well for both. Place it just above eye level, slightly to one side of the camera, and turn the brightness down until the light is comfortable to look at. Soft, even light on your face looks better on camera than overhead room lighting alone.
