Privacy filters for phones, tablets, laptops and monitors, which narrow the viewing angle so only the person directly in front can read the screen. Our range includes adhesive screen protectors with a privacy layer as well as removable filters from PanzerGlass, DICOTA, 3M, eStuff and Belkin. They suit commuters, travellers and anyone handling confidential information in public or open-plan spaces.
How to choose a privacy filter
Device compatibility. A filter has to match your exact model or screen size, so check the compatibility line before anything else. In our range, many filters are made for Samsung and Apple devices, some are universal, and others are cut for Lenovo, Dell or Microsoft laptops. For a universal filter, measure the visible screen width and height and compare them with the stated dimensions.
Installation type. Full adhesive filters are the most common in our range and sit flat on the screen, which suits phones and tablets you rarely want to uncover. Magnetic filters, attachment strips and flip-attach mounts can be taken off, which helps on a laptop or monitor when you want a full-angle view again. Some filters use an adhesive strip with slide mount tabs, a method often used for laptop screens.
Protection features. Most filters listed with protection details are scratch resistant, and a good number are also shock resistant. Dust resistant and shatterproof options appear in smaller numbers. If the device travels in a bag or gets handled a lot, choose a filter that offers more than privacy alone.
Screen clarity and viewing angle. Every privacy filter darkens the screen slightly, even when viewed head on, so you may need to raise the brightness a little. Filters that block the view from both sides are common, and a few can be turned to a portrait or landscape orientation. If you use a touchscreen, check that the filter is designed for touch input.

Privacy filter FAQ
Do privacy filters work from every angle?
No, they only block the view from the sides. Someone standing directly behind you can still see the screen, because the filter narrows the viewing angle rather than hiding the content completely. Sitting with your back to a wall gives the best protection.
Does a privacy filter make the screen darker?
Yes, most privacy filters reduce brightness a little because they block light that would otherwise travel sideways. The effect is usually manageable with a small increase in screen brightness. Colours and sharpness can also look slightly different from an unfiltered screen.
Can I remove a privacy filter when I do not need it?
It depends on the installation type. Magnetic filters, attachment strips and flip-attach mounts are designed to be taken off and put back, while full adhesive filters are meant to stay in place. If you share your screen often, choose a removable type.
How do I know which privacy filter fits my device?
Check the compatibility details for your exact model, or for universal filters, the screen dimensions. For phones and tablets, look for your brand and model name. For laptops and monitors, measure the visible screen area and compare it with the filter size.
