LED and video walls in our range are large commercial displays for reception areas, retail spaces, meeting rooms and presentations. The selection is small and comes entirely from LG Electronics, so it suits buyers who want a ready-made LG signage display rather than a wall assembled from separate modules.
How to choose an LED or video wall
Viewing distance and pixel pitch. Pixel pitch is the distance between neighbouring LEDs, and a smaller pitch gives a sharper picture at close range. A wall viewed from a few metres needs a finer pitch than one read from across a large hall, so work out where your audience will stand before comparing models.
Size and installation space. Measure the wall, the available depth and the route for delivery before you order. Large panels are heavy and usually need a wall mount or frame rated for the load, and you should leave room for service access.
Picture quality and contrast. Contrast ratio affects how well dark and bright areas separate in a lit room. Products in our range list typical contrast ratios of 1000:1 and 1200:1, which is worth comparing alongside brightness and the lighting where the display will stand.
Connections and control. Check the video inputs you need for your source, whether that is a media player, a laptop or a signage controller. Models in our range include two Ethernet (RJ-45) ports, which are normally used for network control or linking units, and one lists three HDMI ports.
Power and running costs. A display that runs all day adds up on the electricity bill. Typical power consumption in our range is listed at 160 W and 170 W, and one model shows 112 kWh per 1000 hours. Standby figures differ noticeably between the two (0.5 W and 105 W), so check them if the screen will sit idle for long periods.
Brands we carry
- LG Electronics: a South Korean manufacturer that makes both consumer TVs and commercial display and signage products, which means its professional screens are built around the same panel and electronics expertise.
Both products in this category are from LG, so the comparison comes down to specifications such as contrast, power use and connections rather than brand.
LED and video wall FAQ
What is the difference between an LED wall and a standard video wall?
An LED wall builds the image from light-emitting diodes, while many standard video walls tile together several LCD screens. LED walls can be made without visible gaps between sections, whereas tiled LCD walls usually show thin borders. The right type depends on the size you need and how close people will stand.
What is pixel pitch and why does it matter?
Pixel pitch is the distance from the centre of one LED to the centre of the next, usually given in millimetres. A smaller pitch means more detail and allows viewers to stand closer without seeing individual dots. A larger pitch is acceptable when the audience is further away.
Do LED walls use a lot of electricity?
It depends on the size, brightness and content shown. Typical power consumption for models in our range is listed at 160 W and 170 W, and one model is rated at 112 kWh per 1000 hours. Check the typical and standby figures, because running hours determine the real cost.
Which connections should an LED video wall have?
It should have the video inputs your source needs, with HDMI being the most common for media players and laptops. Network ports are useful for managing content or linking several units. In our range, both products have two Ethernet (RJ-45) ports, and one has three HDMI ports.
