How to choose a TV wall mount
VESA pattern and screen size. Check the four mounting holes on the back of your TV, measured in millimetres (for example 200 x 200 mm), and make sure the mount supports that pattern. Mounts in our range start from small patterns such as 50 x 50 mm and 75 x 75 mm and go up to 800 x 600 mm, with supported screens from around 25 cm (10") to 2.18 m (86").
Weight capacity. The mount must carry more than the TV's weight, which is listed in its specifications. Large screens need a stronger bracket, and most mounts in our range are made of steel, which is the usual material for load-bearing arms and plates.
Type of movement. A fixed mount keeps the TV closest to the wall and is the simplest option. A tilting mount angles the screen down, which helps when the TV hangs above eye level. A full-motion mount swivels and extends, so it suits corners or rooms where you watch from several spots.
Wall and fixings. Solid brick or concrete takes heavy screens with the right anchors. Plasterboard needs fixing into the studs behind it or special load-rated fixings. Also check that the mount comes with the screws and spacers for your TV, since some sets have recessed or curved backs.

TV wall mount FAQ
What does VESA mean on a TV mount?
VESA is the standard for the spacing of the four screw holes on the back of a TV or monitor, given as width x height in millimetres. A mount fits your TV when its supported VESA range includes your TV's pattern. The pattern is normally printed in the TV's manual or on the manufacturer's specification page.
Should I buy a fixed, tilting or full-motion mount?
It depends on where the TV hangs and how you watch it. A fixed mount is the slimmest and suits a TV at eye level. A tilting mount reduces glare and angles the screen when it sits higher up. A full-motion mount lets you turn the screen toward different seats, though it sits further from the wall.
At what height should I mount my TV?
The centre of the screen should be roughly at eye level when you are seated. In a living room this usually puts the TV lower than many people expect. If it has to go higher, for instance above a fireplace, a tilting mount helps to keep a comfortable viewing angle.
Can I mount a TV on a plasterboard wall?
Yes, but the bracket must be fixed into the timber or metal studs behind the plasterboard, or use fixings rated for the combined weight of the TV and mount. Plasterboard alone cannot hold a heavy screen safely. If you are unsure what is behind the wall, use a stud detector before drilling.
