Full HD monitors

Full HD monitors

This category holds over 300 Full HD monitors for home, study and office desks, mostly 1920 x 1080 screens with some 1920 x 1200 models. Sizes run from about 21.5 to 27 inches, and leading brands include HP, Acer, Lenovo, Dell and Philips.

How to choose a Full HD monitor

Screen size. The 23.8-inch size is the most common in our range, followed by 27-inch and 24-inch models. A 24-inch screen suits a normal desk viewed from arm's length, while a 27-inch screen is more comfortable if you sit a little further back, because Full HD pixels are larger at that size.

Resolution and aspect ratio. Most models use 1920 x 1080 pixels in the standard 16:9 shape. Some use 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA, 16:10), which adds extra height and shows more of a document, web page or spreadsheet without scrolling.

Panel type. IPS is by far the most common panel in our range and keeps colours and brightness steady when you view the screen from the side. VA panels, which we also stock, generally give deeper blacks and higher contrast, which helps with films in a dim room.

Refresh rate. A 60 Hz screen is enough for documents and video calls. Many models in our range run at 75 Hz or 100 Hz, which makes scrolling and cursor movement look smoother, and 120 Hz and 144 Hz versions are there for gaming. A few reach 300 Hz, but you need a graphics card that can produce that many frames to benefit.

Connections and stand. Check which ports a model has (HDMI, DisplayPort or USB-C) and whether your computer can use them. If you work at a desk for hours, a stand with height adjustment or a VESA mount for a monitor arm makes a noticeable difference.

Full HD monitor brands in our range

  • HP, Dell and Lenovo: all three build monitor lines aimed at business use, and many of their models offer adjustable stands and a range of video inputs for office setups.
  • Acer, ASUS and MSI: each has a dedicated gaming monitor line (Acer Nitro, ASUS TUF Gaming, MSI Optix), so look here for higher refresh rates.
  • LG and Samsung: LG is closely linked with IPS panel technology, and Samsung is known for VA panels and curved screens.
  • Philips: sells both everyday office screens and the Evnia gaming range.
  • iiyama: known for its ProLite series of office monitors.
  • ViewSonic: offers the ColorPro line, which is aimed at users who care about colour accuracy.

Also in our range: Dahua Technology.

Full HD monitor FAQ

Is Full HD enough for a 27-inch monitor?

Yes, Full HD is enough for a 27-inch monitor for everyday work, video and general use. Text and images are less sharp than on a 24-inch Full HD screen, because the same number of pixels is spread over a larger area. If you sit close to the screen and read a lot of text, a 24-inch model will look crisper.

What is the difference between 1920 x 1080 and 1920 x 1200?

Both have the same width, but 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA) is taller. The extra 120 rows show more of a page or spreadsheet at once, which many office users like. Standard 1920 x 1080 is more common and matches most video and games.

Which refresh rate do I need for office work?

For office work, 60 Hz is enough, although 75 Hz or 100 Hz feels slightly smoother when scrolling and moving windows. You only need 120 Hz or more if you play fast games and your computer can deliver the matching frame rate.

Should I choose an IPS or VA monitor?

Choose IPS if you want stable colours and wide viewing angles, which suits most home and office use. Choose VA if you prefer higher contrast and deeper blacks, for example for watching films. IPS is the more common panel type in our range of Full HD monitors.
