Phone holders

Phone holders

Phone holders in our range are mounts for using a smartphone in a car, on a bicycle or on a scooter. They suit drivers and riders who follow navigation or take calls hands-free. You will find car vent mounts and clamp mounts, mostly from CELLY, with a few products from Fairphone.

How to choose a phone holder

Where you will use it. A holder made for a car will not necessarily cope with the vibration and weather of a bike. In our range, some holders are made for cars, one is for bicycles and another is for both bicycles and scooters, so check the stated use before anything else.

Mount type. Car vent mounts clip onto the slats of an air vent, which keeps the windscreen and dashboard clear. Clamp mounts grip a bar or edge, which is the usual approach on handlebars. A vent mount depends on sturdy vent slats, so check that your car has the right kind. A clamp needs a bar or edge of suitable thickness.

Grip and material. Most holders in our range are made of plastic, and some use silicone. Plastic gives a rigid frame, while silicone adds some grip and cushioning where the phone touches the holder. On a bumpy road or a bike, a firm grip matters more than a slim design.

Built-in charging. Most holders here do not charge the phone, but at least one has a built-in charger. A charging holder saves a separate cable on long drives, though it needs a power source in the car. If you only use navigation for short trips, a plain holder is enough.

Phone size and cases. Check the maximum width the holder can open to, particularly if your phone has a thick case or is a large model. Make sure the holder does not cover buttons or the charging port you need to reach.

Phone holder brands we carry

  • CELLY: an Italian brand that focuses on mobile phone accessories such as holders, chargers and cases, and it supplies most of the phone holders in our range.
  • Fairphone: a Dutch company best known for repairable smartphones built with more responsibly sourced materials, and it offers a small number of products in this category.

Phone holders: frequently asked questions

Which type of phone holder is best for a car?

A car vent mount is the most common choice, and it is the type most holders in our range use. It attaches to the air vent, keeps the phone at eye level and leaves the windscreen free. If your vents are fragile or an unusual shape, a clamp or other mount type may hold better.

Can I use a phone holder on a bicycle or scooter?

Yes, but only with a holder made for that purpose. In our range, one holder is intended for bicycles and another for both bicycles and scooters. Car vent mounts are not designed for handlebars, so do not swap them.

Is there a phone holder that charges my phone?

Yes, some phone holders have a built-in charger, and at least one in our range does. It needs a suitable power connection in the vehicle to work. Most holders here are non-charging, so check the product details if charging matters to you.

Will a phone holder fit my phone with a case?

It will if the holder opens wide enough for the phone and case together. Compare the holder's maximum width with your phone's measurements including the case. A thick protective case can be the reason a holder does not close securely.
