Desktop and all-in-one displays

This category covers replacement display panels for desktop monitors and all-in-one computers, for people repairing a cracked, dim or faulty screen rather than buying a whole new device. Panels are matched by size, resolution, connector and mounting, so the exact model of your device matters more than the brand name.

Check the part number before ordering. Two panels of the same diagonal can be physically incompatible.

How to choose a desktop or all-in-one replacement display

Part number. Look for the panel code on a label on the back of the existing screen, or in the service manual for your monitor or all-in-one. Matching this code is the safest way to get a panel that fits and works. A model name alone is often not enough, because manufacturers sometimes switch panel suppliers during a production run.

Size and resolution. The diagonal is measured in inches, and common desktop and all-in-one sizes run from around 19 inches to 27 inches and above. The resolution (for example Full HD or 4K) must match what your device and its graphics output support. Fitting a different resolution can cause a blurry image or no picture at all.

Connector type. Monitor panels and all-in-one panels often use different interfaces, such as LVDS or eDP, with different pin counts. Check that the cable plug on the new panel matches the one in your device. An adapter board may be needed if it does not.

Panel technology. IPS panels generally offer wider viewing angles and more consistent colour, while TN panels are usually found in older or budget monitors and VA panels offer deeper contrast. Replacing like with like keeps the picture close to what you had. Upgrading is only worthwhile if the rest of the device can use it.

Touch and bare panel or full assembly. Some all-in-one computers have touchscreens, which need a panel with a digitiser layer and its own cable. Also check whether the listing is a bare panel or a complete unit with a frame, as a bare panel needs more careful fitting.

Brands and panel makers

  • Original device makers: the manufacturer of your monitor or all-in-one is the starting point, as its model number leads you to the correct panel code.
  • Panel makers: the screen inside is usually made by a separate company, and the code printed on the panel identifies it. This code is what you should match when comparing listings.
  • Touch and non-touch versions: these are often sold under similar codes, so confirm which one your device uses.

Specific brands are listed on individual product pages as items are added to this category.

Frequently asked questions

Can I replace the screen on an all-in-one PC myself?

Yes, many people do, but it takes patience. You usually need to remove the front bezel or glass, disconnect the panel cable and handle the backlight with care. If your device has a touchscreen, it can involve an extra layer and cable, so look up a repair guide for your exact model first.

Will any panel of the same size fit my monitor?

No, size alone does not guarantee a fit. The resolution, connector type, pin count and mounting points must also match. Using the panel code from your existing screen is the most reliable way to avoid a mismatch.

How do I find the right replacement screen for my device?

Start with the model number of the monitor or all-in-one, then find the panel code on a label on the back of the screen itself. Compare that code with the product listing. If the code is not visible, check the service documentation or ask the seller before ordering.

Is it worth replacing a monitor screen instead of buying a new monitor?

It depends on the size and age of the device. For a recent all-in-one, where the screen is built into the computer, replacing the panel is often the practical choice. For an older or inexpensive standalone monitor, a new monitor can be simpler, as repair takes time and the rest of the unit may be ageing as well.
