Laptop screens 11-13.3 inch

This category covers replacement screens for laptops with 11 to 13.3 inch displays, the size used by most ultraportables and small notebooks. It suits anyone repairing a cracked, dim or flickering panel, as well as technicians and repair shops who need the right part for a specific model.

A replacement panel only works if it matches the original in several technical details, so check these before ordering.

How to choose a laptop screen replacement

Exact model and part number. The laptop model alone is not always enough, because manufacturers often fit panels from different suppliers within the same series. Look for the part number printed on the back of the existing panel, usually on a small sticker, and match it to the replacement.

Screen size and shape. Laptops in this range are mostly 11.6, 12.5 or 13.3 inches measured on the diagonal. Panels of the same size can still differ in thickness, mounting points and cable position, so the size is only the starting point.

Connector and cable type. Most current laptops use a thin eDP cable, commonly with 30 pins, while older models may use a wider LVDS connector with a different pin count. A panel with the wrong connector will not fit without an adapter, and adapters are not always available.

Resolution and panel type. Common resolutions are HD (1366 x 768) and Full HD (1920 x 1080), and some models use higher ones. IPS panels give better viewing angles and colour than basic TN panels, which is worth knowing if you work on photos or share the screen with others. Keep the same resolution as the original unless you have confirmed that your laptop supports a different one.

Touch or non-touch. Touchscreen panels have a digitiser layer and an extra cable, and the laptop must be built to support it. Fitting a non-touch panel in a touch laptop, or the reverse, usually does not work.

Panel types and brands to look for

  • Original-manufacturer panels: these are made to the laptop maker's specification, so fit and image quality match the screen that shipped with the device.
  • Compatible panels from display makers: many are produced by the same factories that supply laptop brands, and they are often interchangeable when the part number and connector match.
  • Complete assemblies: some replacements include the bezel, hinges or cable, which saves time on models where these parts are hard to separate from the panel.

Brand names for individual panels depend on the model, so always compare part numbers rather than relying on the brand alone.

Frequently asked questions about laptop screens 11-13.3 inch

How do I know which replacement screen fits my laptop?

Match the part number on the back of your current panel to the replacement. If the screen is too damaged to read, search using the full laptop model number and check size, resolution and connector type. Those three details rule out most wrong choices.

Can I replace a laptop screen myself?

Yes, many people do, and on most laptops it takes a small screwdriver set, a plastic pry tool and some patience. Switch the laptop off, unplug the charger and, where possible, disconnect the battery first. Some slim models have glued bezels or need the bottom case removed, which makes the job harder.

Is a 13 inch laptop screen the same as 13.3 inch?

Often yes, because many laptops described as 13 inch actually use a 13.3 inch panel. Even so, check the part number, since two panels with the same diagonal can differ in connector, thickness or mounting.

Can I fit a Full HD screen in a laptop that came with HD?

Sometimes, but only if the connector, pin count and the laptop's graphics support allow it. The cable and the display settings in the firmware may differ between versions. Confirm compatibility for your exact model before buying, because a mismatched panel may show no image.
