Toothbrush heads are replacement brush heads for electric toothbrushes, suited to anyone with a worn brush or a handle that needs a fresh head. Our range covers over 50 models, mostly from Philips and Oral-B, with options from ETA and Zelmer too, in packs of two to eight heads.
How to choose toothbrush heads
Handle compatibility. A head only works if it fits your handle, so check the handle series before anything else. Most heads in our range are made for Philips handles, and a smaller number are for Oral-B, because the two systems use different fittings.
Bristle stiffness. Soft and extra soft heads are the usual choice for daily brushing and are kinder to gums and enamel. Our range includes soft, medium and extra soft options. Medium is worth considering only if you are used to firmer bristles and your dentist has no objection.
Pack size. Heads are sold in packs of 2, 4, 5, 6 and 8 in our range. Dentists generally advise replacing a head about every three months, so a pack of four covers roughly a year for one person. Larger packs suit families who share one type of handle.
Cleaning purpose. Heads differ in shape and bristle layout, and each type is designed for a job such as general cleaning, plaque removal, whitening or gum care. Read the product name and description to match the head to your main concern, and keep a different head type for each family member if their needs differ.
Toothbrush head brands we carry
- Philips: the largest group in our range, known for Sonicare sonic toothbrushes, and its heads typically snap onto the handle.
- Oral-B: known for round heads that oscillate and rotate, a design that differs from sonic brushes and needs Oral-B compatible handles.
Also in our range: ETA, Zelmer, Panasonic, Waterpik and Xiaomi.
Toothbrush heads: frequently asked questions
How often should I change my electric toothbrush head?
Replace it about every three months, or sooner if the bristles look splayed or worn. Frayed bristles clean less effectively and can be rougher on gums. Many heads have bristles that fade in colour to show when they are wearing out.
Are Philips toothbrush heads compatible with Oral-B handles?
Generally, no. Philips and Oral-B use different fittings and different cleaning movements, so heads are not interchangeable between the two. Always match the head to the brand and series of your handle before you buy.
Which bristle stiffness should I choose?
Soft or extra soft is the safest choice for most people. Dentists commonly recommend soft bristles because they clean well without wearing down enamel or irritating gums. Choose medium only if you have a reason to prefer it.
How many toothbrush heads do I need in a pack?
A pack of four lasts about a year for one person who changes heads every three months. Households with several users of the same handle type may prefer packs of six or eight. A pack of two suits those who want to try a new head type first.
