How to choose a speakerphone
Room and group size. A personal speakerphone is built for one or two people at a desk, while a conference model has stronger speakers and microphones that pick up voices across a table. Choose by the biggest meeting you regularly hold, not the average one, because voices at the far end of a table fade quickly on a small unit.
Connection type. Many speakerphones in our range connect by USB, with USB Type-A, USB Type-C and Micro-USB B all appearing. Check which port your laptop actually has before ordering, or pick a model that includes both connectors. Some models are wired only, some wireless only, and several offer both, which is handy if you want a cable for a fixed room setup and Bluetooth for a phone.
Microphones and noise reduction. Models in our range typically have three or four microphones, which allows the device to pick up speakers from several directions. Noise reduction is listed on a number of them and helps in open-plan offices or rooms with air conditioning, as it filters out steady background sound so voices stay clear for remote participants.
Device compatibility. Some speakerphones are made for PCs, some for mobile phones and PCs, and others are listed as universal. If you take calls on a phone as well as a computer, make sure Bluetooth is supported. What is a speakerphone used for?
A speakerphone is a microphone and loudspeaker in one device, so you can take calls and video meetings hands-free. It replaces a headset when several people share a call or when you want to move around the room while talking. Most connect to a computer by USB, and many also pair with a phone over Bluetooth.
Do I need a Bluetooth speakerphone?
Bluetooth is useful if you want to take calls from a smartphone as well as a laptop. If the speakerphone will stay plugged into one computer in a meeting room, a wired USB model is enough. Many models in our range offer both, so you can switch as needed.
How many people can one speakerphone cover?

Is USB-C or USB-A better for a speakerphone?
