Gaming mice

Gaming mice

Gaming mice in our range cover wired and wireless models for PC players, from lightweight esports mice to multi-button designs for MMOs and strategy games. Over 600 models are available from brands such as Logitech, Razer, ASUS and Endgame Gear, alongside value-focused names like White Shark and Defender.

How to choose a gaming mouse

Wired or wireless. A wired mouse needs no charging and has no battery to run flat. Our range includes cable-only models, battery-only models and mice that can run on either. Wireless models connect through an RF dongle, Bluetooth or a mix of both, and some also charge over USB Type-C. For fast games, the RF dongle is the safer choice because it generally has lower latency than Bluetooth, which suits laptops and tablets better.

Sensor and DPI. Most mice in our range use optical sensors, which track accurately on the majority of mouse mats and desks. DPI describes sensitivity, and a higher maximum figure does not make a mouse more accurate. Look for adjustable DPI steps and a sensor from a reputable maker, especially for shooters where small movements matter.

Shape and grip. The range includes right-handed and ambidextrous shapes. Palm grip users usually prefer a taller, longer body, while claw and fingertip grips often work better on smaller, lower mice. Measure your hand if you can, and check where the side buttons sit before buying a symmetrical model.

Buttons and weight. Six buttons is the most common layout in our range and covers left and right click, scroll wheel click, DPI switch and two thumb buttons. Seven or eight buttons are useful for MMOs and games with many abilities. For fast, precise aiming, many players prefer a lighter mouse, though a heavier one can feel steadier for some.

  • Endgame Gear: specialises in lightweight, esports-oriented mice with a strong reputation among competitive players.

  • Cherry: a German company best known for keyboard switches, and also makes mice.

Gaming mice FAQ

Are wireless gaming mice good enough for competitive play?

Yes, as long as the mouse uses a 2.4 GHz RF dongle rather than Bluetooth alone. A dongle connection keeps latency low enough for fast shooters and esports titles. Bluetooth is better kept for office work or travel.

What DPI do I need for a gaming mouse?

Most players use somewhere between 400 and 3200 DPI in game, so a very high maximum figure is rarely needed. What matters more is a sensor that tracks consistently and lets you change DPI easily. Set the value that gives you comfortable control on your screen and mouse mat.

How many buttons does a gaming mouse need?

Six buttons is enough for most games and is the most common layout in our range. Seven or more buttons are worth having for MMOs, strategy games and other titles with many commands. Extra buttons only help if you can reach them comfortably with your grip.

Can left-handed players use an ambidextrous gaming mouse?

Yes, an ambidextrous mouse has a symmetrical shape that works in either hand. Check the side buttons first, because some ambidextrous models only have them on one side. A mouse with buttons on both sides gives left-handed players full use of every control.
