This category holds charging cables for phones, tablets and other mobile devices, with USB-C and USB-A connectors in our range. It suits anyone replacing a frayed cable or adding a spare for the desk, car or travel bag. Brands include ESTUFF, ZENS and CELLY.
How to choose a charging cable
Connector type. Check the port on your device first. Most current Android phones and tablets use USB-C, as do many laptops. The connector at the other end in our range is either USB-C or USB-A, so look at whether your charger or computer has a small oval USB-C socket or the traditional rectangular USB-A one.
Charging power. A cable limits how fast a device can charge. For fast charging a phone or laptop, you need a USB-C cable rated for the wattage your charger and device support. A basic cable may charge slowly at higher power, so read the stated rating on the product page.
Length. About one metre suits a desk, a car or a power bank, while two metres reaches a bedside socket from across the room. Longer cables are more convenient, but very long, thin ones can reduce charging speed.
Build quality. Cables usually fail where they bend, next to the connector. Reinforced connector ends and a thick or braided outer sheath help a cable survive daily plugging and unplugging, which matters most if it lives in a bag.
Charging cable brands we carry
- ZENS: a Dutch brand best known for Qi wireless chargers and charging accessories designed to match them, so its cables suit a wider charging setup at home or on the desk.
Also in our range: ESTUFF, which supplies as many cables here as ZENS, and CELLY.
Charging cable questions
Which charging cable do I need for my phone?
You need the cable whose phone-side connector matches the port on your phone. Most Android phones use USB-C. Then choose the other end to match your plug or computer: USB-C for a USB-C charger, or USB-A for an older plug or a standard USB port.
Does a USB-C cable charge faster than a USB-A cable?
Not on its own, because charging speed depends on the charger, the cable and the device together. A USB-C to USB-C cable paired with a suitable fast charger usually allows higher power. USB-A chargers generally deliver less power, so the cable cannot make up for that.
Can I use any USB-C cable to charge a laptop?
Not always. USB-C cables are built for different power levels, and a cable designed for phones may charge a laptop very slowly or not at all. Choose a cable whose rating covers your laptop charger's wattage.
How long should a charging cable be?
One metre is enough for most desks, cars and power banks. Choose two metres if the socket is far from where you sit or lie, for example beside a bed or sofa. Shorter cables are tidier and avoid tangles when travelling.
