UPS batteries are replacement and extension battery packs for uninterruptible power supplies, bought mainly by businesses, server rooms and IT teams. Our range covers rack-mounted battery modules and replacement battery units from APC, HP Enterprise and Online USV, along with an AEG option.
How to choose a UPS battery
Compatibility. A battery pack is designed for specific UPS models, so start with the model number of your UPS and the part reference printed on the old battery. Voltage must match the system, and our range includes packs rated at 48 V, 50 V, 72 V and 180 V.
Battery technology. Some packs in our range use lithium-ion (Li-Ion), and others use sealed lead acid (VRLA). Lithium-ion batteries are generally lighter and last longer in service but cost more at the outset, while VRLA is the long-established choice that usually needs replacing every few years.
Capacity and number of batteries. Runtime depends on how much battery capacity sits behind your load. Some products ship as a single battery unit, while one pack in our range contains 12 batteries. If you only need a few extra minutes to shut servers down cleanly, a replacement unit is enough. If you need longer autonomy, an extension pack is the better route.
Size and operating conditions. Rack-mounted modules take up fixed space, and some of our packs are 2U, so check free rack units before ordering. Operating temperature ranges in our range run from 0 to 40 °C, with some packs specified for 15 to 40 °C. Heat shortens battery life, so a cool, ventilated location matters. Operating altitude ratings also vary, which only matters for sites at unusual elevations.

How often should a UPS battery be replaced?
Most VRLA UPS batteries need replacing every three to five years, depending on temperature and how often the UPS discharges. Lithium-ion packs generally last longer. Many UPS units show a battery warning or report reduced runtime when replacement is due, so follow the manufacturer's guidance for your model.
Can I use any battery in my UPS?
No, the battery must match the UPS model and its voltage. Connectors, physical size and the charging circuit are all designed around a particular pack. Check the part number in your UPS manual or on the old battery before ordering.
What is the difference between lithium-ion and lead acid UPS batteries?
Lithium-ion UPS batteries are lighter, usually last longer and tolerate more charge cycles. Sealed lead acid (VRLA) batteries are the traditional option and generally cost less up front, but they wear out sooner. Your UPS must be designed for the technology you choose, so you cannot swap one for the other freely.
What does 2U mean for a UPS battery pack?
2U means the pack fits into two rack units of height in a standard 19-inch server rack. One rack unit is 44.45 mm, so a 2U module is about 89 mm tall. Make sure you have two free units in the cabinet, and check that the depth suits your rack.
