Case panels and covers are replacement and upgrade parts for PC cases, such as side panels and cover plates, for builders who want to repair, restyle or adjust the airflow of an existing system. Our range is small and focused, with most items from LIAN LI and one from Gembird.
How to choose case panels and covers
Case compatibility. Panels are made for specific case models, so check the exact model name before ordering. Even within one series, left and right panels differ, and a panel for a similar-looking case will often not line up with the frame or screw holes.
Material and look. Tempered glass shows off the components and works well with lit fans and RAM, but it is heavy and needs careful handling. Solid aluminium or steel panels hide cables and absorb some fan noise, while mesh panels let more air through.
Airflow and noise. A closed panel keeps the system quieter but can trap heat if the case has few intake fans. A vented or mesh panel suits builds with a hot graphics card or several drives. Look at where your fans are mounted and which way they face before choosing.
Fixings and fit. Check how the panel attaches: thumbscrews, standard screws, hinges or a slide-in mount. Glass panels in particular often rely on rubber grommets or special fixings, so confirm that these are included or can be reused from your old panel.
Brands we carry
- LIAN LI: a Taiwanese manufacturer known for aluminium PC cases and for open, glass-fronted designs such as the O11 Dynamic series. It supplies three of the four products in this category.
Also in our range: Gembird, with one product.
Frequently asked questions about case panels and covers
What is a case panel used for?
A case panel closes the sides, front or top of a PC case. It protects the components from dust and accidental contact, guides airflow and defines how the build looks. Replacement panels are also used to swap a solid side for glass or mesh.
Can I fit a panel from one case on another?
Usually not. Panels are cut to the dimensions, screw positions and edge profile of a particular case model. A panel is only safe to use on another case when the manufacturer states that the two are compatible.
Is a tempered glass panel better than a solid one?
It depends on what you want from the build. Tempered glass gives a clear view of the components and is hard to scratch, but it is heavier and can shatter if knocked on a corner. A solid metal panel is more robust and generally quieter, but it shows nothing inside.
How do I replace a PC case side panel?
Switch off the computer, unplug it and remove the screws or thumbscrews holding the old panel. Slide or lift it away, then fit the new one and tighten the fixings by hand without forcing them. Lay glass panels on a soft surface while you work, and keep the screws in case you need them later.
