Business monitors are displays made for office desks, reception areas and everyday work with documents, spreadsheets and video calls. Our range currently has two HP models of around 21.5 inches, so the choice is small and easy to compare. Both suit offices that want a standard-size screen from an established business brand.
How to choose a business monitor
Screen size. Both models in our range have a diagonal of about 54.5 to 54.6 cm (21.4" to 21.5"), with a viewable area of roughly 47.6 to 47.9 cm wide and 26 to 26.8 cm high. That size fits a normal office desk and works well for one main window or two narrow ones side by side. If you keep many windows open all day, a larger screen is worth considering.
Pixel pitch. This is the distance between neighbouring pixels, and our two models list 0.248 x 0.248 mm and 0.25 x 0.24 mm. A smaller pitch gives finer text at the same screen size, but the gap between these two values is small. Check the resolution on the product page as well, since it matters just as much for sharpness.
Scan range. The horizontal scan range, listed as 30 to 115 kHz on one model and 52.4 to 110 kHz on the other, describes the signals the monitor can accept. It matters most if you connect older or specialised equipment, so make sure the range covers the signal your computer or device sends.
Power consumption. Typical consumption in our range is 14.5 W and 18 W, with maximum figures of 25 W and 17.6 W. The difference is small on one desk, but it adds up when a whole office leaves monitors running all day.
Connections and stand. Most business setups need the monitor inputs to match the computers in use, such as HDMI, DisplayPort or VGA. A height-adjustable stand or VESA mounting holes make it easier to set up a comfortable working position. Check both on the product page before ordering for several desks.

Business monitors: frequently asked questions
What is a business monitor?
A business monitor is a display designed for office and professional use rather than gaming or home entertainment. It usually focuses on comfortable viewing of text and documents over long hours, stable connections and sensible power use. Both models in our range come from HP.
Is a 21.5-inch monitor big enough for office work?
Yes, for most standard office tasks such as email, documents, spreadsheets and video calls. A screen of this size has a viewable width of about 48 cm, which fits one main window comfortably. If you regularly work with several large windows at once, a bigger screen or a second monitor will be more practical.
What does pixel pitch mean on a monitor?
Pixel pitch is the distance from the centre of one pixel to the centre of the next, measured in millimetres. A smaller pitch means pixels are packed more tightly, which gives sharper text at the same screen size. The monitors in our range list pitches of 0.248 x 0.248 mm and 0.25 x 0.24 mm.
How much power does a business monitor use?
A monitor of around 21.5 inches typically draws less than 20 W in normal use. The two models in our range list typical consumption of 14.5 W and 18 W. Maximum figures are quoted separately, so compare the typical value when estimating running costs.
